What the Trainers Eat: Part 7, Nadine

Continuing our popular series of posts on ‘what the trainers eat’, today we look at what works for Nadine. Like most of the trainers Nadine’s days start early and she eats to support a high training volume. Let’s have a look at a typical day for Nadine before we ask her a few questions about her nutrition.
4:45am wake – glass of water and multi vitamins/fish oil
5:15am glass of water and double shot piccolo latte
5:45am – protein shake
8:30am – breakfast smoothie with mixed berries, nuts, 180 protein powder and milk
10:30am – snack mixed berries, nuts and cottage cheese
12:00pm – lunch crunchy salad with tuna and olive oil
2:00pm – train
4:00pm – snack small tin tuna, apple, 5 almonds
7:30pm dinner – usually fish/meat and salad or steamed veg
Plus I drink heaps of water through out the day

a) How many times per week do you shop? I usually do a big grocery shop on Saturdays for the coming week and add a few extra bits and pieces throughout the week.
b) You eat a lot of meals in the day, do you find the organization for this a bit laborious? No, it’s just part of my routine.  Preparing food for meals at work is easy and I usually do it at the same time as preparing my evening meal. It’s harder on weekends when you’re out of routine

c) What’s your favourite:

i) Quick, convenient and healthy ‘go to dinner’ for when you’re running low on time? Fish or steak and salad is always easy and fast and something I often have when I finish work late. I don’t often find myself in situations where there’s nothing in the fridge, but if that does happen an omelette is fast and filling.
ii) Guilty pleasure I enjoy winding down with a glass of wine or two a couple of nights a week

Thanks Nadine, previous posts in this series have had a look at the dietary habits of  Scott, Hoodie, Matt, Ben, myself and Alex
