Kat Chirkoff

Who am I? I am the one with a slight Swedish accent, a trainer that have been around Crossfit Ignite Sydney’s walls sense April 2008. Every time I wake up I am on a mission to help our clients to achieve their goals.

I got into fitness by doing a 1 year sports leader course in Sweden. I am a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer and  hold certification in Kettle bell training, Certificate 3-4 Master Trainer and Level 1 Power Coach.

As a former chef I have great knowledge about the food we should feed our bodies with, therefore I am the 4WI weightloss coach. Love to share recipes and nutrition advice with you. I eat a diet that are  based on garden vegetables, lean meat, fish, seeds and nuts and no sugar (minus the odd ice-cream and glass of wine every now and then).

What do I think about CrossFit? It is defentely a way of living, once you start you are hooked forever. CrossFit makes you a stronger person in all aspects of life. My weaknesses is most of the gymnastic moves. Practicing, practicing and practicing is the key to become a master of your weaknesses.
I am a pusher on the floor. Will not let a client pass me unless they feel like, yeah, I had an awesome session today, would not have been able to do that without a scream from Kat from the other side of the room “a bit deeper, faster, you don’t need to rest” while keeping an eye on technique. My philosophy is to help everyone become a balanced human- to have cardio-respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy in every day life.

Love to travel, experience new countries and cultures. I’m also a thrill seeker – mountain biking, skiing, rock climbing and if I have a chance to do crazy stuff like bungee jumping and sky diving I will do it with pleasure. I also like to soak up the sun on a sandy beach with a good book every now and then.
