About Marek

I believe that I haven´t reached my full CrossFit potential and have plenty of room for improvement, as an athlete and as a coach. Becoming a part of Ignite brings me a step closer to fulfilling my dreams and I’ll do my best to help all of you to reach yours.
It’s probably safe to say that all of us care more about our Fran time or how much weight we deadlift and don’t care enough about being able to touch our toes or squat deep enough.
I used to be like that, but thanks to wise Dan I am changed man, I actually care about touching my toes these days! And you know what my performance has improved with it!
Here are my 4 reasons to not skip the stretch.
Makes You Injury Resistant – A flexible muscle is less likely to become injured from a slightly extensive movement. By increasing the range of motion in a particular joint through stretching, you may decrease the resistance on your muscles during various activities. Just think about it – avoiding injuries will allow you to train more consistently and that will lead to a better health and performance.
Makes You Younger – Through stretching we slow the degeneration of the joints making us younger on the inside plus we create better body awareness and promote muscle health.
Makes Training Feel Easier – Just imaging how easy the thrusters are going to feel when you don’t need to fight for getting your hips below parallel every rep and you can easily bounce down and up from the squat. Stretching will do this for you, since a flexible joint requires less energy to move through a wider range of motion, a flexible body improves overall performance by creating more energy-efficient movements.
Feel Fresher For Your Next Workout –  I know you like to train hard and often so please after a hard workout, stretching the muscles will keep them loose and lessen a shortening and tightening effect that can lead to post-workout aches and pains so when you wake up the next morning your will feel more refreshed and ready top train again rather than beat up and tired.
Next time you are in the gym don’t just rush off after your workout and take the extra five minutes to get some stretching done, you will thank me one day…maybe
