A couple of weeks ago, Scott, Jess, Rochelle and I attended the annual CrossFit NeverQuit Team Affiliate Day. We competed as a team of four taking on the workouts including Front Squats, Push Jerks, Cleans and Deadlifts and then challenging the obstacle course with walls, partner carry, tyre lifts, monkey bars and sled pulls. Not only was it a fantastic, fun day, but we all found it very motivating for our own training.
So, would it be beneficial for your training?
Signing up for affiliate days are a great way to add some extra motivation to your regular training. Before the day you have added incentive to be at your best and after the day you can be spurred on by watching the great performances of others. It is helpful for your own training goals no matter how competitive you want to be, for most people that attend it is just about having a good time with their friends and working to the best of their ability.
What are the other benefits?
Not just from a training perspective, but it is a great way to meet new people who share common interests. We were cheered on by people we had only just met and I did the same for others. It creates such an inviting and positive atmosphere.
If you have any questions or would like to know when more affiliate days are being held, ask the trainers and also be on the lookout for events that will be held a CrossFit Ignite Sydney later in the year!

There’s one on November 4th that I’m looking at entering at Crossfit south west Sydney (Campbelltown area) would be good to have a crew of ignitians there aswel to compete and support. May I suggest putting upcoming affiliate days on the board so people can indicate whether they are interested?
